Sherea Green’s 28-year exemplary career in law enforcement transitioned from a Clerk Typist with the State of Florida Department of Corrections to her current role as Director in Miami Dade. She holds a Master of Science degree in Criminal Justice Administration as well as several professional and management level certifications. Sherea is an educator, mentor, real estate broker and investor, entrepreneur, and now an author. She serves on several professional and community boards. Her mission is to EDUCATE, ENCOURAGE and EMPOWER as many people as possible with LEADERSHIP, GRIND, VISION and PASSION. She often echoes, THE BEST IS YET TO COME….
Not only has Sherea been a leader in her career, but she also extends an olive branch to her community by serving as a Mentor for the 93rd Street Community Baptist Church Mentoring Princess Ministry. She is trusted in her stewardship and serves as Treasurer for Moms2Moms/58 Foundation Inc.

An overview of her academic achievements encompasses degrees in Criminal Justice, an Associate in Science at Miami Dade College North Campus and Bachelor of Science from Florida International University in 2002 and 2004, respectively. Sherea earned her Master of Science in Criminal Justice from Florida International University in 2006 and was cross certified as a Law Enforcement Officer in that same year. In 2011, she completed the Executive Leadership Program at Nova Southeastern University in Davie, Florida. In 2012, she attended Leadership North Broward sponsored by The Pompano Beach Chamber of Commerce. In 2013, she completed The National Jail Leadership Command Academy in Huntsville, Texas as well as the Florida General Instructor Techniques Course. In 2016, she completed the Southern Police Institute at the University of Louisville, “Command Officers Development Course”. Sherea is a Certified Jail Services Inspector with The Florida Model Jail Standards Committee and a Certified Jail Manager, which is recognized by The Jail Manager Certification Commission (JMCC) and the American Jail Association (AJA).
Sherea served as an Adjunct Instructor for Broward College Institute of Criminal Justice Studies. Setting ambitious standards for herself, she maintains active and supportive membership with The Florida Sheriff’s Association, National Sheriff’s Association, The American Correctional Association, The National Organization of Black Law Enforcement (NOBLE), American Jail Association (AJA), International Association of Women, National Association of Professional Women and serves as First Vice President for The Broward County Business and Professional Women’s Network. Sherea also serves as Vice President for Healthy Hire Healthy Retire, a 501C3 nonprofit assisting first responders, veterans, and family members in need. With the mental health crisis affecting so many first responders and their families her hope is to make a substantial impact within her local community.
Her belief is that “A true leader should showcase the team’s efforts but stand in the shadows during the victory!”
Sherea is an Educator, Author, Mentor, Real Estate Broker and Investor, and an Entrepreneur. She retired as an Assistant Director (Major) with the Broward Sheriff’s Office and now serves as a Director in Miami Dade County. Her goal is to leave a legacy by touching everyone in this universe by utilizing a combination of her skills, talents, and purpose. Her mantras are, “It’s better to give than to receive. Giving begins the receiving process,” and “Average leaders raise the bar on themselves; good leaders raise the bar for others; great leaders inspire others to raise their own bar.” – Orrin Woodard.
